Marriage and Family...
Christian marriage can be one of the greatest blessings of a person's life. Many followers of Christ view their spouse as a best friend, a life-long love, a faithful companion, and a co-laborer for the Lord.
For others, however, marriage is a source of frustration and disappointment. Some married couples look at the future with fear, despair, and hopelessness.
Many married couples find themselves somewhere in the middle. Their marriage is good in many ways, but they want to keep growing.
The good news is that God's Word has answers for whatever kind of marriage is "brought to the table." It is Jesus Christ who said, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate" (Matthew 19:6). He wants His children to learn how to build marriages that are long lasting, productive, and honoring to Him.
Christian family was intended to consist of a man and woman who are committed to one another under God. The family is to provide companionship, nurture, discipline and training in righteousness so that all would be able to live a life that is pleasing to God and beneficial to society.
The family was intended to be the means by which God reflects the nature of His relationship with His people.
The family is intended to be a place of companionship where husband and wife work together to accomplish God's will living out a covenant marriage before God and others; to be a place where children are born and valued; to be a place where the will of God is taught and lived out from generation to generation. (insights from N. E.)
Be encouraged that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior stands ready to help us build better families and marriages!
